At The Clockspire, focus has always been on creating a welcoming space where great food and even better company come together. It’s not just about the meal, but the atmosphere—the feeling you get from the moment you step through the door to the last bite on your plate.  

With that in mind, we’re thrilled to introduce our new Restaurant Manager, David Hill, who shares this vision of making every guest feel truly valued. 

David isn’t the kind of manager who stays in the background. If you’ve visited us recently, you’ve probably already seen him making rounds, chatting with guests, and ensuring that every part of the evening runs smoothly. He’s a natural at making people feel at home, and it’s this special touch that sets him apart. 

A People-First Approach 

David’s journey in hospitality has been shaped by one core belief: the experience is always about the people. “Whether it’s the guests enjoying a meal or the staff in the kitchen, the people come first,” David says. “I try to make sure everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.  
When you start with that mindset, everything else falls into place.” 

It’s a simple but powerful idea.

He’s focused on making sure guests don’t just come for the food, but for the overall experience of feeling looked after in a genuine, thoughtful way. Leaving with those memories to cherish and revisit time after time, now part of the family.

Located in the heart of Milborne Port, The Clockspire has long been a place where neighbours and visitors alike come to enjoy incredible food in a warm and inviting setting. Whether it’s an anniversary dinner or just a casual night out, our goal is always the same: to make every day feel special. 

David fits seamlessly into this ethos. “To me, dining out isn’t just about the food,” he says. “It’s about how you’re treated, how comfortable you feel, and how the little moments—like a smile from the server or a perfectly timed meal—can turn an ordinary evening into something memorable.” 

For David, it’s not about grand gestures, but the smaller details that make an impact. You’ll often find him making sure guests’ needs are met before they even have to ask or checking in with the kitchen team to keep the service flowing smoothly. “It’s those little things when the staff are happy, when the service feels natural—that make all the difference.” 

Teamwork is the Heart of It All 

David knows that behind every great restaurant is a hardworking team. In his short time with us, he’s already built strong relationships with the staff, from the chefs in the kitchen to the servers on the floor. “The team is everything,” David says with a smile. “If we work well together, that positive energy flows straight to our guests.” 

He’s focused on creating an environment where the team feels confident and supported. “If our team is happy, the guests can feel it,” he explains. “We have regular chats, feedback sessions, and I make sure everyone has a voice. It’s about trust and respect—if they feel good, they’ll give their best, and that’s what keeps everything running smoothly.” 

David also believes in helping his team grow. He’s always on the lookout for opportunities to help each member of the team improve their skills or step up in new ways. “It’s not just about making sure the restaurant is successful—it’s about helping the people who work here thrive.”

Fresh Ideas and Familiar Comfort 

What excites David most about The Clockspire is the opportunity to keep things fresh while staying true to what makes our restaurant so special. He’s passionate about introducing new ideas to surprise guests and keep them coming back, but he’s just as focused on making sure that The Clockspire remains a place of comfort and familiarity. 

“Guests should always feel like there’s something new to discover here, whether it’s a seasonal dish or a special event,” David says. “But at the same time, we never want to lose that feeling of home. We want people to come back because they know they’ll be treated well and that we’re always evolving to make the experience even better.” 

David is already working closely with our chefs to help develop new menu ideas that reflect the best of each season and ensure our food is not only delicious but rooted in our community. He’s also planning exciting events and experiences to engage guests in new ways, while keeping the focus on what we do best—offering a dining experience that feels both luxurious and laid-back.  
 
For example, you might have experienced our newest event series, “The Clockspire Live Lounge.” These evenings blend relaxed, uplifting house music with vibrant cocktails and our latest menu, creating a unique dining atmosphere as the sun sets. We’re excited to announce our next session is scheduled for October 18th. It’s an event you won’t want to miss! 
 

Moments to Remember 

For David, the goal is simple: make every visit to The Clockspire special, whether it’s our guests’ first time or hundredth. “It doesn’t matter if someone’s coming in for a big celebration or just a quick midweek meal,” David explains. “We want everyone to feel like they’re part of something special. The small, thoughtful moments—those are the ones that matter.” And that’s really what sets David apart. He doesn’t believe in over-complicating things; he believes in the importance of connection.
